A little about our family and Freya.

In 2008 - after pestering from our 4 kids, we embarked on a search for the "perfect" family dog

- our youngest was only 4, so we wanted a gentle, trustworthy and fun pet

- our eldest were teenagers, who wanted some spirit, playfulness, personality and good looks!

- we wanted an addition to the "family" ...but one that the kids could easily look after

- that is comfortable and relaxed in suburbia (where we live) rather than needing to be out in the wilds

- medium sized

- strikingly good looking

- not too common

After scouring magazines, various guides, and the net we shortlisted a very few that matched the quite selective criteria. After seeing examples and further research and discussions the choice was easy - and unanimous!

So - in addition to the four kids, we added Freya - but only after the kid's extorted a cat from us too; and we found that the breed has such a lovely temperment that Freya is just as comfy snuggling up to our Maine Coon ("Furrp") as with any of the kids.

                      Furrp thinks Freya is quite kool, for a dog.  Freya thinks Furrp is a just a weird dog.

But they get along just great...
